As ever, a wonderful relaxing break!  We haven’t managed to do as much as usual thanks to John’s illness.  However, we had a wonderful drive down to Brevands to see birds a-plenty and not another soul!  In September last year we ate lunch at Chez Hubert in Saint Jean de Daye.  Wonderful food and a very genial host.  Juliet, Chris & Jon thank you for your hospitality, kindness and very well appointed gte – including the new sofa!  With love and see you in September.

Thank you so much for a very pleasant stay.  We all really enjoyed ourselves, and we hope this goes towards the gas we have used.

Hi Chris, Juliet, Shirley & Jon

We’ve had a wonderful stay here at the gte, thank you so much for all your help and a very welcome ‘Welcome Pack’.  The gte has just about everything (it’s better equipped than my kitchen and I like to cook!!☺).  Hope to see you again soon.

So lovely to be back here for October half term – just like we promised!  It’s absolutely perfect for exploring Normandy.  My parents have loved their holiday here too – especially exploring all the D-Day history.  Thank you so much for providing such a fantastic place to stay – we love it!!!

La Libellule is a well equipped gte and a very tranquil place.  My boys have really enjoyed the play area and the games room was a hit with everyone (adults included!).  Chris & Juliet – we have found very helpful and friendly.  St Marie du Mont is beautiful and provides a good atmosphere.  We have also enjoyed Utah beach - on a sunny day the fine sand provided great entertainment for the children.  The Museum at Utah beach is also very impressive!  Thank you Chris & Juliet for providing us with lots of useful info and help.

Have had a great stay here, lots to see and do, we loved the beaches at Omaha, seem very safe with the sea often quite close.  On rainy days we really loved the Castle at Falaise, and the Muse des Beaux Arts in Caen.  Bayeux is also a beautiful city with a lovely gallery.  Had some lovely casual dining experiences at Grandcamp Maisy – fish & chips right next to the sea!  Enjoy!  Thank you to Juliet & Chris.

Thanks for a relaxing stay.  The children really enjoyed the Games Room, pool, and hot tub.  We all enjoyed the views at Pointe de Brevands, and the historic trip to Bayeux.  My 10 year old son enjoyed Bayeux adventure – high ropes and zip wire!  We all enjoyed a scrumptious meal at Le Normande Hotel restaurant in Carentan.  Many thanks.

Our 7th trip to Neuilly la Fort.  As ever Chris, Juliet, Shirley, Sam and Jon were incredibly friendly and we have had our most relaxing phase of our holiday following 2 weeks near Bordeaux.  It was fascinating to read all my comments in this book going back to 2006 and look forward to adding more comments in the future.  Best regards.

Once again we’ve spent a wonderful 10 nights in our favourite part of France.  Beautiful weather with lots of things to see.  We especially enjoyed the museums at Pegasus Bridge, and Utah Beach.  The D-Day experience at Dead Man’s Corner is another must.  There are plenty of wonderful local markets to visit too and the list in the gte was really useful.  Our favourites were St Mre Eglise and Bayeux.  The gte itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped.  There are plenty of games and activities to do here too.  Thank you for helping us to have a wonderful holiday.

We have enjoyed a lovely holiday visit to this part of the world.  Highlights include: the museums at Juno Beach, Pegasus Bridge, St Mere Eglise and Arromanches.  We have also visited Allligator Bay and Mont St Michel (350 steps to the top!).  A good day visit but a long drive.  More locally the velorail at Conde Sur Vire was fun and the Chateu at Balleroy was good.  The local market at Carentan was worth a visit – new handbags for the girls! And too many good wines and ciders to mention.  A lovely warm welcome – despite our 2am arrival (courtesy of problems in the channel tunnel and operation stack) and spacious accommodation made this a good place to stay.  The hot tub was a surprise bonus.

We’ve had a wonderful week catching up with the family and exploring Normandy – so different from our homeland of South Africa.  The war sites and cemeteries will always stay in our memories – especially the smaller British one in Bayeux, and the 360 cinema in Arromanches.  The Carentan Monday morning market was great fun – followed by a walk past the cloisters and church to the port, and Mont St Michel was awesome – though packed!  Go early in the morning!  Together with the Bayeux Tapestry, the Airborne Museum and church in St Mre Eglise, the Beaches, and a very comfortable gte and relaxing in the garden with all our family (and many bottles of wine and local cider!) – it has been a really great holiday.

We’ve had a lovely holiday.  The town of Isigny Sur Mer is an easy quiet and flat bike ride away.  We also did bike ride no. 6 in the “Manche Vlo” booklet – 33 km around the wetlands near Carentan, so pleasant to ride on quiet roads.  Very different to the UK!  One of our holiday highlights was renting a canoe at Clcy – a bit of a drive but worth it for the quiet and serenity of being the only boat floating down the river.  Be prepared to get wet though – you go over a couple of (small) weirs – quite tame really but good fun!  The gte was perfect for us.  Thank you.

We have really enjoyed our stay a great base for visiting Normandy and Le Mont Saint Michel which is well worth a visit if you can.  Bayeux is worth a visit and the Cathedral and Tapestry is very beautiful and even the children enjoyed it.  We also visited the war cemeteries, British, American and German which were both moving and thought provoking.  Great facilities.  Gte lovely and clean and just right for us.  The children enjoyed the garden and the hot tub a great bonus!  Lovely hosts we have had a very relaxing holiday.  Thank you.

A wonderful stay in our home from home!  The major roadworks in Neuilly have done us a favour.  The fastest route to Carentan/the motorway to Cherbourg, Caen etc is to turn left out of the gte and then in a few kilometres is the main road.  Visited all the favourite haunts, Grandcamp, Brevands but the highlight of the holiday was sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine seeing storks flying overhead!  Thanks as ever.

Have really enjoyed our short stay in this beautiful, peaceful place – truly relaxing (particularly the hot tub!).  Ideally situated for many of the historic attractions in the area.  Thank you.
